UK LEGALITY NOTICE - IMPORTANT
It is currently only legal to use an e-scooter on private land with the permission of the land owner. It is illegal to ride an e-scooter on a public road, cycle path or pavement. Where a Government approved trial rental scheme is running, it's legal to use a rental e-scooter on a public road or cycle lane, provided the rider has the correct licence and follows road traffic regulations.
Illegal use of an e-scooter can lead to a fine, penalty points on the users driving licence, and the e-scooter could be seized or impounded
Therefore, e-scooters which are not part of a trial scheme must not be ridden on any public land unless they have appropriate approval.
